If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or any other staff member who is about.
Out-of-Character
The General Discussion forum (which is our primary OOC forum), give kudos to your fellow players and other such things. One particularly important thread to check in the General Discussion forum is the House Rules secion.
In-Character Locations
The vast majority of in-character posting should take place within the In-Character Locations forum. Various areas of The Triangle have their own subforum, and everything else can go in either the county-level forums. Scenes can be handled outside the Triangle when called
Venue Groups: Hunter, Vampire, etc
These are the areas prevalenet to particular splats where you can be apart of story lines soley linked to your splat. As well as mood post for characters of that venue.
Side Games
Small games that are run by people on the forums but aren't directly connected to the main game in The Triangle. Contact Kevorkiandoctor with a Forum PM/Email if you are interested in running such a game and have wrangled players together for it - an interest post in the General Discussion forums is a good way to do so. In our opininon this is what play by post shines at. Get motivated get some players and tell your story
PLAYER RULES
Violation of these rules will result in marks on the Player Penalty System and can result in loss of characters, ability to make characters in certain splats, temporary and permanent bans.
GAME PLAY
Metagaming covers more than just using information your character doesn't have yet. It can also be manipulating your character or their reactions to things based on things you know, or conversations you've had out of character. While accidents do happen, situations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
God-Moding, be it ignoring wound penalties, other character actions or events is damaging to play and as a result, not allowed. This includes using skills or merits that are not purchased and listed on your sheet.
Real life happens, and sometimes it’s hard to reply to posts in a timely manner. When this is the case, please send a forum PM to the appropriate ST so that we know to whether to wait, or adjust the storyline as needed. In the rare case that a player is abusing this to avoid confrontation, the ST team reserves the right to move the storyline ahead in an appropriate and timely manner and the player will face consequences that may include loss of character.
What if you’re waiting for another player to post? If you’ve been waiting for 48 hours, ask the appropriate ST if it’s alright to skip their turn for that round. But always be polite, and respect the other players. Hounding a player to post can often have the opposite of the intended effect.
PLAYER CONDUCT
The Golden Rule. Any harassment of Players is not tolerated. This includes but is not limited to: name calling, passive-aggressive behaviour, encouraging other players to avoid writing with a third party, and cyber stalking.
Please remember to keep IC and OOC separate. This can be difficult at times, but it’s important to remember that while characters may not get along that the writers have no ill feelings. We know the game of cat and mouse is fun and makes for great story, but either the cat catches the rat or the rat gets his bull bog buddy and tear the cat apart. Don't take this personal. Dice roll, characters die, but we still all need to be friends.
Off site scenes. If you decide to do any writing off site, the appropriate STs must be made aware of the scene and what took place in it, or it did not happen from all players that were involved in the scene. Keep a log of any chats and post them in the approaite IC area.
ST/PLAYER RELATIONS
What if the ST makes a mistake? If you want to challenge a ruling, please be polite and explain what you believe the mistake was in a forum PM to the ST in question and CC any other STs in the splat. The ruling will be reviewed and adjusted accordingly. We aren't perfect and sometimes we forget things.
Complaints. If you have a complaint about something please let us know. If we aren’t aware of something, we’re not able to fix it. The best way to reach us is by forum PM clearly outlining the situation along with any chat logs that might be required. It’s important for Staff to get all the information we can before acting on a complaint, and as a result it may take a while to address. But don’t worry, you’ll get an update on where we’re at if it takes longer than a couple of days.
IC SITUATIONS
Sex and Violence is part of life. But we do have some house rules to make sure everyone’s comfortable.
Characters must be of legal age to be written having sex IC.
If at any point a player feels uncomfortable, fade to black.
Sensitive topics:
Rape, pedophilia, necrophilia and bestiality in character history is acceptable. Any of these to a character is only allowed if it happens ‘off screen’ and a pm to the ST must be sent by both (or all) players involved stating that they were alright with the development and that it happened. Any graphic detail concerning rape is not allowed on the chat or forums.
Any scenes that deal with the above must be tagged at the top of the thread, or early in the scene with a Trigger Warning: [sensitive subject here]
